The book of Acts talks about this supernatural UNITY or ONENESS - that Jesus had initiated - “All the believers were TOGETHER and had everything in common and were one in heart and mind” (Acts 2:44, 4:32)
When we read that the early church were “one in Heart and mind" it sounds like a utopia where there was never any problems and there was just the sounds of birds chirping, sunshine and happiness and no conflicts or disagreement - BUT that wasn’t the case. The unity or oneness that the early church experienced wasn’t easy and in fact there was a significant challenge to bring together two very polarized perspectives on how to live life and relate to God. How can we practice unity with people we disagree with? This week - we’ll see that we don’t have to have agreement to have oneness as we talk Unity in the Real World.
