Sin is an interesting word - we hardly use it in our culture except in some kind of religious conversation. We don't use it in everyday life ... we aren't called into our bosses office to talk about our "sins", if we get pulled over for speeding - we don't receive a sin citation. We actually have removed the word from our vocabulary - probably because it's such a heavy, condemning, shame filled kind of word. In fact you might be very tempted to skip over this sermon because you're thinking "I already feel guilty - why would I subject myself to more?"
Jesus talked about sin - and this morning we're going to talk about it like He did. Jesus talked about sin in terms of what it does to relationships. He revealed that God has always been interested in restoration never condemnation and that acknowledging sin is a means to a very important end - the restoration of our relationship with God.
