Ever seen a sign that says "WET PAINT - Do Not Touch"? How many of us have had to fight the urge to touch it just to see if its true? Isn't there something in us as humans that is predisposed against rules. Probably because we don’t like anyone telling us what we should or shouldn’t do. Where there are rules - there’s a rule maker. And we want to be the rule maker.
Something within the context of faith and religion that we’ve all bumped up against at some point are rules. One of the reasons many people don’t want anything to do with faith or religion are the rules. There’s something in all humans that recoils against restrictions.
This morning we're going to look at the connection between God and rules and we'll see that His rules are a confirmation not a condition of relationship with Him.
